Although written specifically with NYSSMA criteria in mind, these examples satisfy criteria for many state sight-reading requirements. This chapter includes a series of gradated rhythms and melodies which can be used for practicing sight-counting and sight-singing. This chapter includes two-part rhythms and two-part melodies. Melodies within this chapter include stepwise motion. Keys, ranges, intervals, time signatures, rhythms, dynamics and articulations progressively increase in difficulty over the 100 exercises, divided into four clear levels. This chapter covers the major and minor modes.
